Employee maternity/paternity leave: Female employees are not allowed to work within six weeks of the birth of their children, unless a medical practitioner certifies that they are fit to do so. An employee is entitled to an additional 84 days paid maternity leave within the leave cycle if the child dies within a year of birth. Employees are entitled to at least 3 days of paid paternity leave, if the leave is taken within 7 days of the birth of a child, and the employee is the father of the child.


Employee termination period: If the notice is given after the first month of employment then the notice should not be less than four days if the employee is employed on a daily weekly basis; or 28 days if the employee is employed on a monthly basis.


Employee salary pay date: There are no restrictions on the payroll cycle in Tanzania. The company can pay the employees daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending on the company's policy. However, employers need to pay salaries on the designated date pre-decided by the company.
