VAT rates: As of 1 January 2024, there are four VAT rates: 20%, 14%, 7%, and 0%. The rate of 20% applies to almost all transactions subject to VAT except specific transactions subject to 14%, 7%, and 0% VAT.


Ease of Doing Business rank: As of 2020, Ukraine had an overall Ease of Doing Business score of 70.2, and scored the highest in the starting a business category, with the lowest score being in the resolving insolvency category.


Consumer Confidence Index: According to the data provided by Info Sapiens “Consumer confidence of Ukrainians” in July, 2023, the Consumer Confidence Index of Ukrainians has increased by 1,1 points and equals 83,6 points.


Employee maternity/paternity leave: A pregnant employee in Ukraine is entitled to receive 126 days of fully paid maternity leave if the birth of the child goes without complications. If there are complications or multiple births, this leave is 140 days. An employee who has become a father is entitled only to two weeks of unpaid paternity leave.


Employee termination period: The Ukrainian labor law requires the employer to provide a notice to the employee two months in advance in cases of termination due to workforce reductions or company liquidation. In cases of contract termination due to unsatisfactory work performance, a one-month notice period applies.


Employee salary pay date: Payments must be issued no later than 7 days after the end of the respective pay period. The interval between two paydays cannot be longer than 16 days. Holiday pay must be provided 3 days prior to the employee's first vacation day.
