Frequentlyasked questions
An Employer of Record (EOR) is a company that legally employs staff on your behalf in countries where you don’t have your own entity. The EOR holds the employment contract and handles payroll, tax and compliance, while you direct the employee’s day-to-day work. Companies use an EOR to hire quickly in new markets, employ remote talent where they have no presence, or convert contractors to employees — without setting up a local entity.
With an EOR, you retain day-to-day control while the provider handles legal and HR compliance. TopSource issues a locally compliant employment contract, manages onboarding and documentation, runs payroll and statutory filings, and administers mandatory benefits. Onboarding typically completes in 5–10 business days in established markets, giving your new hire a smooth start while you stay in control of their work.
Setting up your own entity can take three to nine months of registration, tax setup and legal work. An EOR removes that: you can hire compliantly in a new country in days rather than quarters, with work permits and visa sponsorship handled where required. This makes an EOR ideal for testing markets, hiring small teams, and scaling across multiple countries at once.
An EOR carries the legal responsibility of employment, protecting you from the main risks of hiring abroad: contractor misclassification, non-compliant contracts, payroll and tax errors, and breaches of local labour law. TopSource drafts compliant agreements, manages statutory deductions and benefits, handles notice periods and severance correctly, and keeps employee data compliant with local privacy rules — significantly reducing penalties and disputes.
Yes. Through EOR services, TopSource employs your full-time staff on locally compliant contracts and manages their payroll and benefits. Through our Contractor of Record service, we compliantly engage, verify and pay independent contractors — and can convert contractors to employees where local classification rules require it. Both are managed in one platform, so you stay compliant across every worker type.
