Traditions abound at holiday time so here’s our rundown of the playful things our team enjoys at Christmas…
Decorating the office
Everyone can get involved and everyone has a view of what goes on top of the Christmas tree – fairy or star? Our office manager says: “More is more when it comes to office Christmas decorations!” so we’re expecting to be knee-high in tinsel by the time you read this.
Having your CEO dress up to hand out the gifts is optional but the exchange of some thoughtful, low-cost presents is a great way to bond and enjoy the gift of giving. One variation on this classic is to add the “trade-in” option whereby the second person to open a gift can change it for what the first person opened and so on. The ideal draw is to go last and have your pick of anything!
Christmas gifts from the management
Whether it’s a bonus in your pay packet, a hamper of delicious treats or a bottle of festive cheer, everyone feels appreciated when they receive a gift from their manager!
The office Christmas party
Enjoy responsibly! No snogging anyone you shouldn’t and please don’t photocopy any body parts. But enjoy! Your to-do list can wait until tomorrow so take the opportunity to get to know your colleagues a bit better and socialise over drinks or a meal.
To give makes someone else’s day brighter and this is surely a true gift of Christmas. Whether it’s a present, a card or a heartfelt few words of appreciation, giving what you can is a win for all concerned.
